Operated a successful, WordPress-powered website focusing on circuit racing.

Situation

Following my exit from Proex Motorsport, I wanted to keep up my presence in the Hungarian circuit racing scene and decided to launch a blog that focused on news and events of the local and international scene.

Task

I needed to find an appropriate content management system, set it up including configuration and graphic design and get a proper hosting solution.

Action

Building on the great relationships that I established with several members of the simracing community, I approached Commade for hosting and they were kind to give me space on their server. My attention then turned to the different content management systems: after trying several ones including Drupal, Joomla, e107, PHP Nuke, I decided to base the new project on WordPress. The blog remained in operation for nearly 3 years, between 2007 and 2010.

Result

Valuable experience in terms of managing hosting solutions, WordPress configuration and operation, content development and editing. Race drivers, corporate executives and decision makers regularly visited the website.
